It’s back!

Footie season starts tomorrow and I’m going to try and get off to a flyer with a seven-fold in the opening week. Best price was 48/1 for the acca on oddschecker, but I imagine I’ll be lucky to achieve half of that from the swag-bag thieving high street cunts.

Coventry (of course lol but they will beat Pompey tomorrow who don’t even have a keeper yet), Norwich (tonight), Southampton (12.15) if either of those go down you can still get back on for the rest who are Charlton, QPR, Reading and Sheff Wed.

I’ve also been looking at season bets and I think Southampton are a cert for league one especially if they can keep hold of their front two past January. The Championship will again be ultra-competitive but I have a sneak for Reading at a reasonable price. The relegated teams from the EPL have no cash or a bad manager and there is no value in Boro with a load of jocks and an awful manager. Doncaster will surprise quite a few again and are a bit of value to sneak into the play-offs I think. Coventry will be better than last year but I still only think mid-table beckons. League two looks tough, but I might be tempted by Northampton or maybe one of the promoted sides in Oxford or Stevenage to go straight though.

My EPL selection is a little controversial. Despite a few years of nothing and Wenger still refusing to address the blindingly obvious goalkeeping problem they have, I think Arsenal represent a bit more value than the front two this year if they can hold on to Cesc and keep him fit. I’m not having Man City. They may have spent a lot of cash and it’s shaken up the big boys but I still think vying for fourth is as good as it will get for them unless some real quality arrives soon.

I will do a full update on Monday (my birthday :-) ). Not much to report really on gambling front. I went to the same poker tournament on Tuesday that I did well in last week but never got started and about two hours in, I walked KK into AA all in pre so an early night. Might have a bash at the DTD £15k gtd on Sunday.

Happy punting
Rob
