Happy birthday to me!

I’m not sure what the fuck I’ve just killed. It looked a bit like an eerie-wig (sp?) but on closer inspection I think a beetle had been fucking a centipede.

It’s my birthday today and here I am stuck at fucking work. I have been to KFC for lunch so not all bad (demonstrating that I know how to live the high life). Why is it that on MY birthday I have to buy all the cakes for everyone at work? I think on my birthday everyone should buy me a cake and then I could sit here stuffing my face with about 30 chocolate éclairs. It wouldn’t be pretty but I’d have a good go.

I didn’t exactly get off to a flyer on the betting front at the weekend. Fortunately I didn’t get on Norwich Friday night and then dodged another bullet being too late for the Southampton game (although I understand there was no Ricky Lambert), but it mattered not as the five-fold I did get on was still let down by Reading at home to Scunthorpe.

I played the £150 (+£18 robbing cunts) at DTD yesterday and ran like Stephen Hawking. I didn’t cash and should probably have gone broke about three times before I eventually did. I don’t know what it is about that place. Perhaps the mental psyche, but I’ve yet to cash in about half a dozen visits. Bearing in mind my overall record in live tournaments, which is fairly incredible (even if I do say so myself) for the amount of times I’ve played, I’m pretty disappointed with my showing there. My buy-ins at DTD are approaching £2k and is the only casino in the country that I’m showing a loss in (Duffs apart but only two visits and up on his home games/Betfair games lol). I wouldn’t mind if I could put it down to being out played, but the standard was again woeful.

At least Coventry got off to a flyer on Saturday. It was an excellent team performance and a fully deserved win. Pompey lacked everything we had in bundles which was desire, attitude, effort and togetherness. They had some obvious quality that would improve our side but the goals and points were rightly ours. Freddie Eastwood scored both and I know that played regularly and his rightful position, he could be the 20 goal a season striker that we are still searching for.

I picked Doyle v Brown as a key battle before the game and was concerned when I saw who the ref was (Andy D’Urso). Doyle was brought in for a specific task and kept him quiet. Brown is one of those horrible nasty little whinging moaning dirty cunts who winds up the opposition and in Doyle we have one of our own so Boothroyd it seems decided to fight fire with fire. I still hope that Clingan will be the preferred choice in the middle but AB showed he isn’t about popular decisions and if he thinks a player is right for a job he'll back his judgement like he did at centre back too. I always worry about Turner and particularly when I rate both McPake and Wood so highly but in all fairness Turner was excellent throughout as was young Cameron who at 18 looked very composed and I think has a bit of needed pace about him too.

I couldn’t really find many faults at all. Some of the sharpness and touch wasn't there but its only game one and that will come. I pray that it's not another false dawn because that's the most positive I've felt coming away for a long, long time. Play up Sky Blues – operation Premiership back on :-)
